Site News: Article One My one man show titled "Work In Progress" at the Dufferin Museum and Archives was a great success!! The staff and volunteers were great to work with! I wish to thank everyone who helped make this event happen. Article Two Great News!!!! The 17th Saugeen Autumn Leaves Studio Tour 2011 is quickly approaching. This self guided tour is the weekend before Thanksgiving. You can get more information at www.autumnleavesstudiotour.ca . The tour consists of top quality artists of which I have two as my very special guest artists. One is Beth Grant of "Beads On Broadway". You can visit her website through my "Links" page. The other is Jennifer McKinnon who does beautiful wood turning and functional Art. Looking forward to seeing you. Article Three I have been accepted for the prestigious Headwaters Art Festival Show !! Only forty area artists are accepted for this venue. It is being held at the SGI Canada Caledon Centre on Sept 22-24-30 and Oct 1-2. This is a great cultural event and you can get much more information at info@headwatersartsfestival.com . Article Four I took "Honorable Mention" at the "beaux-arts brampton" photography show that was part of the "Contact photography festival, Toronto" This is the most prestigious award for me to date and greatly appreciated in acknowledging my creative direction. Many great pieces of work were on display at the show and I really felt honoured. Article Five I won first place at "Painting On the Green" held at the Guelph Arboratum in the photography class and was awarded the first ever "Ross Davidson-Pilon" award. A great bunch of people were there and a wonderful time was had by all. Article Six My piece "Dancing" was accepted into the prestigious art show "Insights" held at the Wellington Museum and Archives. This is another wonderful show that I will enter next year. Article Seven I have done many presentations in 2011 on "The Art of Floral Photography" All of the presentations have been well received and I have made a lot of new friends. The talk is a fun and informative 45 minute powerpoint presentation that explores various alternate ways to view your subject. It goes through a variety of principles with examples to help you see other options than just centred subject matter. I explore such topics as the rule of thirds. Article Eight I am very happy to inform all of you that my piece called "The Trail" was selected by "The Escarpment Views" as their centre two page spread image for the fall issue of 2010. They did a very good job on the printing. The magazine is available in the Niagara escarpment and surrounding areas. The magazine publishes local news, events and special articles of interest. There is a link on my "Links" page to their site.
